Re: AllStar users?

We use a specially developed release of IRLP for our systems here. We have our own Conference Main/Backup servers with all our nodes being two digits - 30s/40s for VHF and 50s/60s for UHF. Works great but we are ready to upgrade to something else. AllStar may be worthy of a look. It's not "plug and...

Re: Over the air aliasing

But then again, it seems that sometimes that Mother M is good at putting the cool features only on the top end radios. Isn't that the truth :/ I am actually considering dumping my TRBO gear and going with Hytera instead which already has this feature, but hoping Ma M will deliver but I might die ho...

Over the air aliasing

You guys think we will ever see it?

Hytera just recently released this in their latest firmware and I really hope Mother M follows suit. Over the air aliasing makes so much more sense than keeping up with contact lists and I was glad to see ETSI put it into the spec.

AllStar users?

Any CommTech members host or hang out on any AllStar nodes or hubs? I host hub node 28741 for a group in Northeast Tennessee, feel free to drop in anytime. I will also be bringing a few more online within the next couple weeks for myself personally. Plan right now is to build a "portable" node with ...

Re: P25NX and Raspberry Pi

I'd like to take a stab at this at some point, I didn't know the image was downloadable though?

Where is it? I can't seem to find it.

Re: DMR -> APRS

If I can ever get CPS installed on my server (don't ask.. it's one of those projects that I ask myself just exactly WHY in the hell am I doing this!!??) I plan on playing with it, but gotta wrestle through these issues first.

Re: Mag Mount, or Install? Which do you prefer?

Drill baby drill.... popped three NMO's in my brand new truck I bought in mid 2016.... didn't feel a bit bad about it! I've put NMO's on every vehicle I've had the last 10 years and it has made a phenomenal difference in performance vs. mag mounts.

Re: P25 Ham Systems

There are a few P25 repeaters in Tennessee:

W4KEV 441.8375 +5 Mhz Knoxville
N4BKY 443.750 +5 Mhz Gallatin (Nashville Metro)

Both of these repeaters are linked together full time.

Re: DMR -> APRS

This works on the Brandmeister network now, if you have it enabled in the radio it will send your position to the APRS network. I have not played with this yet though however so I am not exactly sure how to set it up or how it works, but my understanding is it does work as intended.

HKN6182 keyload adapter

Does anyone know what is up with these? There appears to be a shortage of them and I've had an order in for one since before Christmas.

Anyone have a spare one laying around they may be willing to part with? :)
