Re: Astro Spectra question

Win 7 32 runs the AS CPS with no issues. You will need a rib box and the serial cable unless you have a USB cable designed to fit the Spectra DB15. If there is no USB cable available then you will need a USB to serial adapter the rib box and cable (DB25 on one end db15 on the other). A FTI based ad...

Re: 7.16 Release

So it's a pretty big jump? And would be done for the potential of migrating to Phase II in the future. A new system being installed in my county is in a holding pattern because of this release. The agency we're piggybacking off of is in negotiations with M to upgrade to 7.16. Which will no doubt add...

7.16 Release

What is the major benefit of upgrading from, say....7.1 to 7.16? Is it mainly for redundancy?

Re: XTS5000 Screen Text

Go to "Radio Wide" - General, and then scroll down to User Information. You should see "Radio ID Alias Enable".

Re: Service and Support needs ?

Wireless reset fuses. LOL. In all seriousness though, it would help out tremendously if I could get a (somewhat) knowledgeable person on the other end of the conversation BEFORE I go look at it. And this not only applies to the communications field, but any thing that's service related. I can't tell...

Re: RIOS

I had no idea it had been around that long. The way SyTech was pitching it, you would have thought it is the latest greatest thing in interop.

RIOS

Has anyone had any experience with RIOS by SyTech Corporation? From what I understand, it's more than just a patch when it comes to interoperability across multiple platforms. It's a gateway that combines radio, telephone, computers, VoIP, video, etc. etc. The agency my wife works for is implementin...

Re: v15.5 CPS released Friday

I was forced to upgrade to the current version. The 7550e that I recently purchased was programmed using the new version. I haven't seen any issues at this point. However, not using the CPS to the extent of some of you, I doubt I will see any issues.

Re: Antenna adapter for XPR threaded stud connector

Protected? Or isolated? Motorola does some strange things sometimes.

I have a new VHF 7550 coming in next week. I wonder if it's the same way.

Re: Tag question

Listen to what I'm saying. You cannot have FPP and Trunking at the same time. Unless it's below R9 CPS. Anything newer and it will not support both, IIRC. Just because the radio accepted the flashcode, doesn't mean it's going to work correctly. You can cram any flashcode you want in that radio using...

Re: Tag question

"Loaded" flashcodes can be a bad thing. You have to make sure all of the options can work together in a harmonious manner. The radio may not be able to support all of the options. I'll look up your flashcode and see what you have.
