Re: Interop Between Type I & II

I do agree with Notarola. Going digital will require you to replace the analog subscribers anyways. Changing to Type II/IIi or Type II with Astro CAI would be a short term band-aid in your case anyways. I myself and dealing with all the headaches finding all the right things to configure and setup a...

Re: Interop Between Type I & II

Yea yea...I'm trying to figure out a solution. We are likely ditching our TRBO solutions in the near future so I've got to figure out something else to get them on. This one just came to me, what about a mixed mode Intellirepeater? Might those Type 1 subscribers still function properly if I moved t...

While I know the 6809 inside and out and can configure them however needed, I cant say the same for the MTC. I have most of the manuals for these controllers and get what is required to set them up. I made ...

Re: Interop Between Type I & II

I think he is migrating from a separate type I to a different type 2 system. If they were on the same system then the TGs can be hot patched together until all the units are on the new TG and format. Oh ok I wasn't sure what he was trying to do. If he has one of the 6809 based Start-Site or the lit...

LOL, I take it you too have received a radio back with a codeplug that isn't correct or an entirely different radio that was sent in.

Re: Odd Quantar "howl" issue

I have that happen on 2 site simulcast conventional system with 8 RX sites before. It ended up being one of the RX sites. The digitac would properly vote a site, during the transmission the particular RX site would pick up the transmitter. Once the proper voted site dropped the digitac voted that pa...

Re: AstroTAC 9600 questions

Something weird is going on with those OC_R03.12.00 kits on Ebay... our friend MotoFAN over in Europe bought one and tried to chip-swap Quantar firmware into it, and it behaved pretty much identically to how mine did. Yeah, I purchased some of them 2 had issues with it. Seems to be the ones that ha...

It got mostly through the process then popped up that error and any subsequent tries it immediately gives the same error. Had to get the SIMM re flashed the manual way.

Re: AstroTAC 9600 questions

I can confirm that yes, you can convert 9600s to 3000s by just flashing/changing the simm with the Atac3000 firmware. I have done this with a 3.10.0 kit I had. Will be upgrading to 3.19 soon.
