Re: Best dual band (single or pair of radios) option with remote head for $300-350

Can I snag a pair for that price point? I saw W4 VHF low split on eBay for $130 earlier last week, should have snagged it.

I could fit a pair of W3s on a Panavise dash bracket pretty easily, cram the speakers under the dash.

Best dual band (single or pair of radios) option with remote head for $300-350

New to us 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so far proving to be a major PITA to upfit. This is technically a third vehicle for us (I have a take home fleet vehicle) so I'm not looking to spend a ton on it. I'm looking for, at a bare minimum: 144-174 & 430-470 coverage Remote heads Analog conventional Alpha d...

Favorite VHF Wideband antenna?

Personally I've been using a mix of Maxrad MWV1365S and PCTel PCTWSLMR NMO... I just took delivery of a Browning BR-159 on a whim, needed a cheap ($24 on Amazon) no ground plane antenna for a go kit. Surprising broadbanded, out of the box it was flat from 144 to almost 160, started climbing up at 16...

Re: Mag Mount, or Install? Which do you prefer?

Have you ever looked at what a mag mount does to your paint after a wet season? 3/4" hole I can put a rain cap on when I sell it... Or a 3+ inch discolored rust circle on paint. Um yeah, drill and forget. Also don't let the mechanic shop do the drill work, one of our fleet vehicles has body plugs in...
