Re: Astro Saber

Wm Its been so long since I looked at a saber I dont think I have the info you need. Notorola, No problem. I ended up just buying another one that will do what I need. Same guy I bought my Astro spectra from. Got just the radio, which was all I needed for $70 shipped. I’ll use the one that doesn’t ...

Re: Astro Saber

Since the radio line is NLA and the firmware is free if you had MOL for the saber line. I would say that its ok to post it to a file sharing site and post the link. Notorola, Would you happen to know what firmware version the Astro Saber supported the 2.5khz splinter steps? Mine is at Host 4.01.05 ...

Astro Saber

Hey folks, Got another question for everyone. I just received an Astro Saber to use with the fire department. Issue is, when I went to program it, it popped up and said that the target radio didn’t support 2.5khz steps. And that I needed to update the firmware. Anyone know where to find a file to up...

Re: Astro Spectra question

What version of CPS are you using? Astro Spectra ? Or are you trying to read wit with Astro 25? I got it. I talked to the guy I got it from and got the correct software from him. He had sent me 5.03 for it and forgot he programmed it with 5.02. He sent me the correct version and it works great now.

Re: Astro Spectra question

Ok everyone need some more assistance. I got my laptop with XP in today and went to read the radio. For some reason it is popping up “Unsupported model”. Everything is hooked up and has power, is there a reason for this? I believe the radio used to be dash mount but was converted to remote. Read som...

You can use win 7 32 bit as well. The cable is not that hard to find its the astro25 spectra cable thats a pain to find.
Thanks Notorola, I appreciate it.

I was told that it would work with a 64 bit computer, which is what my laptop happens to be unfortunately.

Re: Astro Spectra question

Guys, I apologize for the late reply. I got caught up in other stuff at the time and completely forgot about programming my mobile and replying to this thread. So my laptop is a 64 but so it’s out of the question. So do I need to find a laptop with XP? That would work with the software correct? Afte...

Re: Astro Spectra question

Win 7 32 runs the AS CPS with no issues. You will need a rib box and the serial cable unless you have a USB cable designed to fit the Spectra DB15. If there is no USB cable available then you will need a USB to serial adapter the rib box and cable (DB25 on one end db15 on the other). A FTI based ad...

Astro Spectra question

Hello all, I have an Astro Spectra in my pov that I’m wanting to change some stuff in programming wise. I already have the software, given to me by the person I bought it from, but need to know what kind of programming setup I need for a computer with usb connections only. It’s for a low power (45 w...

Re: Tag question

The way the universe works you will end up getting a DMR system or TETRA LOL. Happy we were able to answer the questions. Lol. The career department near us uses DMR and everyone hates it. The way I understand it, we’ve got a partial grant to upgrade the system. Just gotta have the county get the r...

Re: Tag question

Guys, Thanks for the help regarding this. Ultimately I have made the decision to keep the radio with the original intentions above. Not for use in structure fire, unless other radio is out of commission for some reason, but mainly for medicals and wrecks and such. Mind you, I’m in a volunteer depart...

Re: Tag question

There are a couple of red flags. First the missing tags. It is possible for a legit radio to loose a tag over its lifetime but not all of them. The flash code has so many features enabled is also a red flag, no one orders that many features in a radio. Moto would bot create a radio with in compatib...

Re: Tag question

A radio that doesn't have tags could have come from questionable origins. A: a parts built radio from 3 or 4 different radios. Or B: stolen and the tag taken off so the serial number isn't visible. If there is a physical tag on the radio, it should match what's in the radios programming. Always try...

Tag question

So I have a question for everyone. What is the importance of having all the tags on a radio? I bought an XTS 2500 on eBay, on purpose, for use as a backup radio for my 5000. I talked to the seller and he confirms that the serial numbers match up. I will confirm that when it gets here tomorrow. I jus...
